The Florida One-Hundred Goldback (1/10 Troy Ounce 24k Gold)

Goldbacks debuted with the release of Utah Goldbacks, offering Americans the first form of spendable gold in nearly a century.

Goldbacks are designed with 24-karat gold and feature unique designs for each denomination honoring the heritage of the state for which each series is issued.

Florida is the latest state to have a Goldback Series, and it marks the debut of new denominations in the form of 1/2, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 Goldbacks.

In the stirring design of the 100 Florida Goldback Gold Notes, the American era of Florida’s history shines through in a detailed design element. The dominating figure is that of Liberty in the foreground as she grabs a broken chain to haul a ship back to shore. Look closely though, and you’ll notice design elements honoring Florida’s role in the American space program, with a rocket launching into the sky overhead and an astronaut’s footprint in the sand at Liberty’s feet.
